A few years ago I sent an article called “The secret life of moody cows” to a colleague who owns a rather large dairy farm, at least for the North Island of New Zealand. He used it to try and revise the way his farm staff handled the cows. Good for him.

It seems that animals enjoy learning, but even more fun is this video which shows rats enjoying a good tickle.

I love the way the researcher is clearly enjoying tickling the rats. These are the ordinary events to me that speak of our true nature. As an aside I believe that we must look deeply into the ordinary.

And my cats enjoy a good pet. How could we ever have argued that animals are not sentient beings. Every moment is a chance to look into life as long as we pay attention to it. At least that’s what I think.
