Attachment it seems can surface in anything, and it seems some activities lead there better than others. My practice for the last few months has been around keeping balance within the various activities in my life. I guess from the outside it’s looked OK, but from the inside I’ve been learning to let go of thought. I’m still learning.
The machine has been coming into clearer view. It’s not that people are just biological machines, but that their awareness is focused through that. Their precious awareness. It seems the more we meditate the more precious our awareness becomes.
It reminds me of the Zen story of the poor man who was unaware of the wealth that he had hidden in the clothing he wore. We are unaware of the importance of our awareness. I feel I’ve been learning to treat it like the precious thing it is and people like the precious things they are. Still getting there though.
